First 7–14 Days
Let the coating cure fully — avoid washing, water exposure, and rain if possible. Absolutely no waxes or sealants during this period. The coating needs time to bond properly to your clear coat.
Proper Washing Technique
- Two-bucket method — one with soap, one with clean rinse water
- Use pH-neutral car shampoo designed for ceramic coatings (avoid dish soap or harsh detergents)
- Wash top-down with a quality microfiber wash mitt
- Rinse with deionized/filtered water if possible to prevent water spots
- Dry with clean microfiber towels or a blower — never air dry
- Wash every 1–2 weeks (don't let contaminants sit)
What to Avoid
- Automatic car washes — brushes will mar and swirl your paint
- Touchless washes with harsh chemicals — can degrade the coating
- Abrasive sponges, towels, or brushes
- Parking under trees (sap and bird droppings are acidic)
- Letting bird droppings or bug splatter sit — remove within 24–48 hours

A full ceramic coating service typically takes a full day. This includes the premium wash, decontamination, clay bar treatment, paint correction, and the coating application itself. After application, the vehicle should not be washed for at least one week to allow the ceramic coat to fully cure.
Wax is a temporary surface protectant that typically lasts a few weeks to a month. Ceramic coating is a semi-permanent nano-ceramic layer that bonds to your paint and provides up to 8 years of protection against UV rays, contaminants, water spots, and minor scratches — while dramatically enhancing gloss.
